However, Sarvodaya School has said that the State government cannot control the fee structure.ĭuring the hearing, the bench observed that education is the fundamental right and must be imparted freely to the children and in the same manner, it is not possible for the State government to take over these schools or nationalise them. The petitioner, Sarvodaya School Students Parents Welfare Committee has challenged the hike in school fee without any justification given. The High Court on Friday directed the Commissioner of the Department of Public Instructions (DPI) to be present before the court on Monday with regard to a petition challenging the fee structure of ICSE and CBSE schools in the City.Ī division bench comprising K L Manjunath and Justice Raghavendra S Chauhan summoned the DPI commissioner to check how an amount of Rs 13,600 has been fixed as salary to school teachers. He has said the accusation that the petition is being used as a device to achieve the objective of the Opposition, is purely false. The petitioner has said that it was absolutely false and refuted the government’s contention that the petition has been filed to scuttle the debate on the issue in the Legislature or to derail the investigation process. He has contended that the statement denotes a colossal error in jurisdiction and investigation process. In his objections, Reddy, the petitioner, has said the statement was uncalled for, wholly without jurisdiction, completely misconceived and vexatious. Sudhir Reddy, the husband of IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri, has taken strong objection to the State government stating that she had shared more than cordial relationship with her batchmate D K Ravi, who died under mysterious circumstances on March 16.
